• started playing the trombone in 1983 at age of 10
• first jazz experiences: high school bigband (1990-1993), "Mountain Street Jazzband" (Dixieland) (1991-1995)
• from 1994-2002, I played in several Bigbands in northern germany (Kiel University Bigband, "Benny's Bigband", "Landesjugendjazzorchester Schleswig-Holstein", "JazzReaktor"), and in diverse combos including award-winning "Franz'n'Friends"
  
• more than 10 years experience in composing and arranging jazz music, including Bigband, Combos and brass ensemble
• 1999-2002 vice president of "jazz nord" (jazz music initiative Schleswig-Holstein, northern germany)
  
• 2003-2005 many concerts with "Old Fair City Stompers" (Dixieland) in Leipzig, Germany; frequent guest at jam sessions of jazz club Leipzig
• since 10/2005 living in Santa Fe / New Mexico
